A Beer Adventure in Melton Mowbray: Chris's our General Manager’s visit to Round Corner Brewing

Greetings, beer aficionados and adventurers alike! Today, I’m taking you on a journey to Melton Mowbray, where I embarked on a mission to Round Corner Brewing, nestled in the middle of a traditional British market and cattle auction site. What awaited me was not just a pickup of 4000 cans of beer and lager, but a cracking experience filled with delectable brews, warm hospitality, and an amazing atmosphere.

Melton Mowbray

Chris, accompanied by his partner Rachel and their furry companion, Indy the cockapoo, decided to turn this business trip into a mini vacation with an overnight stay. After all, what's better than combining work with pleasure? especially when it involves, craft beer, breweries and exploring the historic town of Melton Mowbray which we all know is world famous for its pork pies.

Upon arriving at Round Corner Brewing, we were met by friendly brewers and staff whose impeccable forklift skills ensured the 2 full pallets of beer were safely stashed in the van. I couldn’t wait to return to the on-site taproom later that evening.

Of course, no visit to Round Corner Brewing (or any brewery for that matter) would be complete without sampling their impressive range of beers. From crisp lagers to bold IPAs, there was something to delight every palate. I found himself diving headfirst into a tasting flight, savouring a range of unique brew and appreciating the craftsmanship behind them. My personal favourite being the Social Club Nitro Stout coming in at a sessionable 4.3%, so much so I followed up with several pints of this afterwards.

But the experience didn't stop at the beer… I was treated to a tour of the brewery by the charismatic owner Combie. His passion for beer was infectious, and he regaled me with tales of brewing adventures and the inspiration behind each brew, whilst charmingly dealing with a couple of cheeky taproom customers who tried to tag on and help themselves to a free brewery tour! I gained a real appreciation for the art of brewing and the time, effort and cost that goes into getting every Round Corner beer just right.

Let's not forget about the food! The breweries homemade in-house pizzas were nothing short of divine, perfectly complementing the array of beers on offer and are a must try should you find yourself visiting.

As we bid farewell to Round Corner Brewing, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible experience we’d just had that’s to Combie and his team. From the fantastic beers to the warm hospitality, it was a visit they wouldn't soon forget. Melton Mowbray had certainly left its mark, and Chris knew that they would be back again soon, eager to explore more of what this charming town had to offer.

Melton Mowbray

So, to all you craft beer lovers out there, if you ever find yourself in Melton Mowbray, be sure to pay a visit to Round Corner Brewing. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.

Cheers to good beer and great company!
