As described by Brew Master, Jonathan Smith, Freedom Organic Helles Lager boasts a floral hop aroma that perfectly balances sweet malt and a crisp bitter finish. This lager is 4.8% ABV, making it a moderately strong beer that's perfect for those who appreciate a robust flavor profile.
The term 'Hell' means bright or light in German, and Helles lager is a pale lager. It differs from Pilsner in that it's softer and has a slightly sweeter taste. Originally brewed in Munich, it was the German response to the Czech Pilsner style that started gaining popularity. Freedom Brewery's Organic Helles Lager is a nod to this tradition, offering a unique take on this classic style.

The Freedom brewery story started in Fulham nearly 40 years ago and 150 miles away from their current home – a purpose built brewery in the Staffordshire countryside.
Based on a farm, they only use water from a private spring under the brewery, they give the spent grain to the cattle on the estate and recycle waste water.
Fast forward to the present day and Freedom have delivered on their sustainability targets including being named SIBA Green Brewery of the Year. While originally focusing on lager, they’ve recently started to expand their range.
